                Content: Word began to spread that fearful August that the feared Armada, Spain’s huge fleet build for an invasion to put down Elizabeth and restore England to Catholic rule, had be defeated. Unruly Channel weather, better English ships and brilliant leadership by English captains had chased the limping Armada north around Scotland and onto its humiliating trip the long way home.
