There is always something going on here at A Moment in Time. Dan spends a great deal of his time, researching, lecturing, and writing for the radio broadcasts. Periodically we will update this site with information about what is going on, speaking engagements, press releases, and just interesting information. In addition to providing radio entertainment and enrichment, Dr. Roberts has recently completed a new television pilot. Integrating sound, video, and vintage photographs, this television segment is certain to generate excitement and interest, just as his daily radio series does. Radio Station to Broadcast "A Moment in Time" University of Richmond, Richmond, VA--- After nine years on public radio, University of Richmond"s history radio program, A Moment in Time reached a new pinnacle in its own history. On September 29, 2003 A Moment in Time began airing on WWRC, CNN Radio, a commercial radio outlet of Clear Channel Broadcasting in Washington, DC. CNN Radio will broadcast the segments twice each weekday, during drive time, 7:57 a.m. and 4:57 p.m. at 1260 on the AM dial. CNN Radio, whose audience reflects that of public radio, simulcasts the audio portion of the television cable channel, CNN Headline News, and is a media innovation arising from coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the spring of 2003. We hope this will be the beginning of a new and expanded type of audience for A Moment in Time and for the message of the University of Richmond, said Dan Roberts. Since A Moment in Time"s first radio broadcast in 1994, the two-minute historical narrative has excited and enlightened the public about the past, its relevance to the present, and its impact on the future. Today, A Moment in Time"s daily audience includes over 2.5 million listeners worldwide on over l00 domestic stations in 3000 markets, Sirius and XM Satellite Radio Networks, as well as the 400 stations of the Armed Forces Radio Network, and periodically on the Voice of America. Dan Roberts, assistant professor of liberal arts and history in the School of Continuing Studies, created A Moment in Time. He is also the executive producer and host of the show. During the last year, Roberts and the University of Richmond have developed a pilot for A Moment in Time for Television and a syndicated newspaper column by the same name. The Cable News Network (CNN) is a full-service network, providing its more than 2,000 global affiliates with the latest information in news, sports and business. Utilizing CNN"s 42 bureaus worldwide, CNN Radio offers un-matched coverage of world and domestic events. CNN Radio is based at CNN headquarters in Atlanta, with personnel, including radio-only correspondents, located at the CNN bureaus in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York. The primary audience includes adults ages 25 to 54. The A Moment in Time and CNN project also supports University of Richmond"s Washington, D.C. initiative.
